The Storm

We endured the Big Storm of 2011  - Dec 1st here in Utah. It was quite scary. Homes in our neighborhood and nearby were really damaged.  A neighboring city (Centerville) estimated the damage at 8 million. They estimated winds in our area at 100 MPH. Here are a few pics of our back yard.
This was just the beginning of the store. You can still see the swing set in the background
That went down a while later. The playhouse still stands!
Brian dragged a fishing boat out of the driveway in the wee hours of the morning before it
hit his car. Most of our neighbors lost significant amounts
of siding and shingles.

Ouch - We may put this on our Christmas Cards this year

Here you can see 2 large sections of fencing gone. Swing set down, pergola down.
We lost shingles off our shed and garage. We also have fences and gates
down in other parts. Our deductible will be our Christmas gift to each other this year!

At least no one was hurt and we have our health. It could have been much worse
Now I know how Dorothy felt.
There is no place like home.

Merry Christmas

Boo to you all!

Here is a view of our front porch this year.

Kids Mud Run August 2011

The kids participated in a Mud Run this summer
It was a fun mess for everyone
Owen & Violet ran in separate age groups. They played "who let the dogs out" when the race started

Farmington City Fire Trucks came and squirted all the kids off so they got
clean before they got in the cars to go home
